Hi folks. Back again with some more light stuff from the gray matter. I found an area of paper model making that is, for me, a new challenge. I had been collecting as many paper models as I could find and discovered that airplanes were not the only thing out there. My interests run from airplanes to vehicles (cars mostly) to figures (cartoon or animal). The more I searched the more I found. The best site that I came across is the International List of Scale Model Related Web Sites. (scalemodel.net) Here you will find everything scale that you could want. I picked the special interest area of paper models for my search. WOW! As the search progressed, my list of downloads grew from just airplanes to motorcycles. Then it happened. I tried to build a paper motorcycle. That was (is) the wakeup call of the ages. Time, patience, and more time (to figure out the Japanese instructions) were the norm. So far I have 5 big bikes and some smaller ones to build.
Also on my mind is an invitation to all of you to send me some pictures of your models to share with all the folks that enjoy this hobby. Please include some information about the model and a bit about yourself as well. I think there are some builders out there that have some awesome stuff that should be seen. If you have some reservation about showing your models because you think they are not good enough………hold on! We all are learning with each and every construction and without mistakes there would be no learning or growth. I don’t care how old you are or how many models you have built. There is no requirement for enthusiasm. Please send your pictures in .bmp format and at least 640 pixels wide. No jpeg as the compression technique used to format jpegs degrade their quality too much to work with. Here is the invitation to you builders. Anyone out there willing to share their work?
Greetings to all you who have seen my site and responded. Sorry that I have not done much since Dec. but life has changed here. I have retired. Wow, I said it and the world did not come to an end. All the things that I wanted to do and never got around to doing because I was working and had only the weekends to do them in…………wait, let me catch my breath.
I retired. I started living a new life style. I am evaluating all the things that there are to do. I am finding that I can be retired and still LIVE. Now, that I have my breath back perhaps I can make this sound like I have not lost my marbles. Retirement. What a sweet sound. Time to get back to the love of hobbies and doing things with my hands and imagination. Time to really love my hobbies and allow myself time to do the strange things that baffle others but stir my imagination. If this makes sense to you, hang in there and watch as I grow into this new and, for me, sometimes scary new adventure.
