The world of model car building has been a special place for me for many years. I started building cars even before I knew that there were kits. Some of my first cars were customized friction type models using modeling clay. (Remember the greasy non-hardening type we used in school?) I would carefully shape and smooth the clay and seal it with a coat of brushed on flat enamel paint that acted as a primer. Then I would carefully paint the car with the only paint I had at my disposal. (usually something that my dad had in the garage for a project he had in mind for the house) Needless to say the smoothness of the finish left a lot to be desired BUT it was MY car and MY custom. Remember the small size Rod and Custom Car mags? I often got ideas from them. Wow, that was a long time ago.

Some of my plans for Model Cars drawer:
      * Showcase some of my models
      *Show some "in construction photos"
*Share some kits that I have that I find interesting
*Put up some photos of models that you guys have made
      * ....and what ever else happens to strike my fancy

Keep tuned as this will be an ongoing construction process.
